What's in a Frame. . . .

A client was in the other day with a concern about an heirloom, an antique lace piece.  The heirloom couldn't be used as an everyday textile (once attached to her greatgandmother's linen sheeting) due to it's age a frailty.  So I got to thinking.  A way to store, share, and exhibit special textiles is easy, just frame and hang!  Whether it is an antique doily in your bathroom or your old cheerleading uniform hanging in your daughter's room you can keep these textile memories for the family to see.  The one thing you don't want to do is date a room with the piece so try coupling older pieces with contemporary frames and furniture.  This is an easy and inexpensive way to add color to your walls and depth to your home.  Now. . . to get that sequin twirler leotard out of the closet for some sparkle!
