A friend, and local Fayettevillian has trumped the food market with her new invention that has JUST hit Wal-Mart (currently only in Joyce street location).
Imagine a meal that is tasty, quick, AND healthy. Introducing the newest food cooking technology, the "SmartPouch". A meal in a pouch- straight out of the freezer-to microwave. You say it's been done? Not, and here is the kicker, 100% Natural without ANY preservatives. Yes, I said it!
These babies are raw, flash frozen and preservative free. The time per pouch/serving ranges from 5min- 6:30min. Each mini meal is cooked in a popcorn-esque pouch with a special vent.
Last night Roe and I tested two kinds.
First go: I'm skeptical. Salmon Florentine Alfredo with Salmon, Pasta, Peas, Spinach and Sauce
The directions were to take one of the two pouches out and place in microwave for 5:15 minutes. Then let it sit in the micro for 1 minute.

I skipped the one minute wait in the microwave, I had a hungry baby!
It didn't work!! Raw salmon, eewwww.
I was veloosing hope fast. . . . but since I had one left I decided to try again- except I was going to complete the measely one minute wait.
Eureka! It worked!!
And it was good!
Seal of approval.
We really enjoyed our quick natural meals. The only setback is that the indivudual packs are kind of small portions so hungry folks you might want two. (They come packaged in two packs, priced at $5.48) Also, the only dishes available currently are Tilpia, Salmon, and Shrimp dishes. But this is just the preliminary stages, meals with meats are already scheduled for production, my insider tells me, as are larger portions.
I know I can't wait until Sam's gets bulk in stock! Even the husband enjoyed his quicky meal when he got home!
We also tried the Tilapia. . . it was my favorite.
Find them in the seafood freezer section of the Joyce Wal-Mart. And enjoy a healthier way of eating!
